Athens

Sunday (7-5)

We spent the day in Athens.  We drove to the Acropolis for a tour.  Then we drove around the city and saw the sights.  More old stuff.  Lots more.

I wonder in they had these nasty lines in the old times.

A nice view of the city from the Acropolis.

Not sure what was on the ground but it sure was interesting.  Garrett in in the foreground, Jake on the right, Kris next to him and Kevin in the back.  Don't know who the other two are.

The building is thousands of years old.  The scaffolding is newer but I think it will be around the building for the next couple of thousand years.

They only partially excavated the site.  Shows how much dirt a place can accumulate.  Kinda like Kristin's room.

Kris, Jake and Jen.  The people in the building are hoping it never rains.  At least until they get the roof replaced.

Kristin in front of the Vestal Virgins of the Acropolis.  I hope this isn't ironic.

Kevin fondling the Virgins.  The second one from the left is going to be ejected from the order.

The Acropolis from out in the city.

At the Olympic Stadium (Modern Times)

Kristin, Patty and Gigi.

This was a excavation site in the middle of the city.

The changing of the guards.  The uniforms they wear are comical.  And they walk around like John Cleese from Monty Python.  The episode with the silly walks.

They kept doing these funny turns and duck walks.

Did I forget to mention the Mickey Mouse shoes.  I can't make this kind of crap up.

I'm not sure who played here thousands of year ago, but they said the Sinatra played here back in the 60's.

Sorry, had to get one more shot of the Virgins.  I'm a man, flesh and blood.
