On the Boat

Here are our ports of call.  Talk about hitting all the high spots.  I get tired just looking at this route.

Our Itinerary

The McPeak clan out on the deck after our first formal dinner.  I'm not sure what Jake is pissed about be he sure looks mad, doesn't he?  He may just not like wearing the tie.  I leave it to you to decide.

The Whole Motley Crew.  From the left: Kevin, Patrick, Jen, Jake, Gerry, Patty, Kathy, Kristin, Garrett, Gig, and Bob.  At least Jake has decided the tie isn't so bad, after all.

This was waiting in our room when we got there.

Jake's thoughts:  "There is no way he's going to take my picture, no way."

Ya gotta love those self shots.  By the way, do I have a booger?

Formal Night in the hall.  Jake, Kathy and I.  Where did I get that extra chin?

Patrick, looking very suave and debonair.

Jen.  The makeup looks great but you can tell she still isn't all that comfortable with it.

Now here is a camera ham, if I ever saw one.

Gigi and Garrett

Kevin and Jake

All right.  Now it's time to get serious.  We have come to the point of the meal where the wine is ordered.  I mean, these boys took that stuff very seriously.  And then they got pissed at me when I slurped the wine when I tried it.  The nerve of them.

Jen is holding Patrick's camera.  Just remember, it's not the size that matters.  That was one big camera. (truthfully, the pics he took were great)

Gigi.

Gerry and Patty.

Sometimes they get along so well.

The Anniversary Couple.  The main purpose for us to go on this cruise was to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary.  With all that was going on, I seem to have forgotten all about that.  Well, my wife didn't.

It started with us getting this special cake with dinner.  I thought to myself, this is pretty cool.  I wonder how they found out.

Little did I know that my sneaky wife had set this up with our bellman.  When we got back from the show, this is what awaited us.  These were the same rose petals they used at our wedding.

Very romantic.  Of course, I felt like a fool because I didn't think of it first.  Oh Well.  Love means not having to say you're sorry.  I won't say what happened next.  Or show the pics.  That would turn this into a porno site.

Here is a picture of our cabin, without the rose petals.

Kathy is pointing to our cabin.  Of course, I didn't tell her what I was trying to do.  I just had her stand there with her finger pointed as I moved around on my knees until I got the angle right.  I think she was starting to think that having married this idiot wasn't the best idea she had come up with.

Sittin around the cabin.

As part of this cruise, we got to sign up for a bridge tour.  This was one of the sea days.  It was sooo cool.

This was the center pilot con.  There are 3 of them.  They let it do the autopilot thing in the open water but when they come into or out of port, they control the engines and rudders manually.  I think they did a great job because I never felt us stop at the piers.  Very smooth.

They even let Kathy take it out for a spin.

The Bridge.

They are even supposed to know how to do it the old fashioned way.  I got a little confused.  They said something about a sextant and I thought they were talking about dirty movies.

Looks like a big video game.  I hope we have enough quarters.

I had to draw the line at letting Kristin drive.  Actually, they have these on either side of the bridge for docking.

This is the floor right by the consol above.

Kathy and I with the Captain.

What would a cruise be without beautiful but wasteful sculptures.

I was in mixed company and I really need to fart.  Jake has that smirk because he just pulled my finger.

The boat.

These were our waiters.  ?????? and Philroy.  A couple of greats guys.

This was the Wine Waiter.  I'm sure there is a more formal name but since I'm a scotch guy, I don't think I said anything more that "Hi" to him.  But don't worry.  Patrick and Kevin more that made up for my lack of attention.

On our way somewhere.

Kristin and her self shots.  With Gigi

We ate dinner at the formal dinning room almost every night.  It was nice for us all to get together and talk about what we saw and did, but also to get the kids to try something other than Hamburgers.  And try other stuff, they did.  I mean, stuff that I wouldn't even try, they said "bring it out".  "Lamb with a Cranberry and Brussels' sprout crème".  They tried it.  I wouldn't have eaten some of that stuff on a dare.  Kathy and I were amazed.

A shot of Kathy.  And it looks like the boat is about to tip over.

Kristin Self shot with Kathy.

Patrick.

A reluctant Jen.

This is the side of Jen she likes to show people for pictures.

I'm not sure but I think someone said something to me that I thought deserved a negative response.  This is one of my favorite ways to do this.

Kristin bit the head off of Jake.  He can be so annoying.

I have to ask.  When did I start to look so old and my wife looks that same as when we met.  I swear, she got carded the other night.  The guy asked if I had my AARP card for a seniors discount.  There is no God.

Jen, I'll make you smile one way or the other.
