France/Nice/Villefranche

Monday (6-29)

Our first stop was to the city of Villefranche.  It is a little town between Nice to the North and Monaco to the South.

This is what we woke up to when we arrived in France

One of the first things we noticed is there is no flat space, what-so-ever.  Everything us built on a slope.  And not a shallow one.

Here we have our explorers taking a little rest after our first accent.

We saw and old castle on top of this hill.  I turned out to be city hall, but it still had some museums.  Imagine that.

This is the view from the castle.  Our boat is the far one.  The near one shadowed us for the first week of the cruise.

I think this is art.  rebar rapped around rocks in the shape of a man.  There's a sucker born every minute.

We decided to get adventurous and take a train to Nice.

After about 10 minutes in Nice, half our group said goodbye and went back to the ship.  That left Jake, Kris, Kathy, Patty and I to have lunch and expore.

Kristin was just happy we found a free wi-fi for her to hook her iPod Touch up to.

If you look very closely, you can see some tits down there.  This is the French Riviera, after all.

Yet another palace.  It did have a pretty fountain out front.

Gerry, Jake and I with the city in the background.

Kathy and Gigi.
