Our Kitchen Project
Kathy and I did a complete Kitchen replacement. Ripped it down to the walls. Even changed the footprint a bit by replacing the Stove/Oven with a Double Oven and Countertop Range. That meant we had to run more electrical lines down from the attic (and that meant that I had to put in a sub-panel on our electric box because, of course, there were no more slots left). And when we were almost done, we decided to rip out a wall. Now it wasn't a big wall, but there were 10 electrical lines running through it. And they all had to be re-run. What a pain. Did I mention that we did all this ourselves. I am one cheap bastard, no doubt about that.
Here is what we started with. This is the sink and dishwasher with the bar behind it.
The Sink finished
The bar area.
This is what we ended up with. We cut the bar down and added the cabinets in front. The wine rack, we made from scratch. I always wanted a table router and this was the perfect excuse. We also used it to make all the trim.
The other side of the bar. We also made the shelves on the left.
Kitchen Before (I really think I should have straightened up before I took these)
The Kitchen After. We didn't do the granite counters but they sure came out nice.

Thankfully it was only like this for a day or so. Didn't have to do the dishes in the bathtub.
It was a trick to keep the kitchen somewhat usable while we were working.
The cabinets were 30" wall cabinets on a 4 1/2 " base I made out of 2 by 6's.
